I'm still here

Not much news in a little while, so I thought I'd just post to remind you I'm still here. I'd also like to advise that our friends at JB Tours have listed new trips from the South Yorkshire area to rally's and days out for 2012. See more on the JB Tour web site at http://jb-tours.blogspot.com/ . The trips are highly recommended. It's also recommended that you keep an eye on that site for future trips.

901 Volvo CityBus E734HFW

Our friends at FlickR (click for photo) have discovered that 901 is still alive. Details are as follows :-


Since leaving Stagecoach Yorkshire (spit), we knew it went to 
Hilton Newton~le~Willows. Turns out it then visited
Lewis, Coventry as E734HFW before turning up with
Ladycars (UK) Ltd and is B6LCT.

It have fond memories of this and it's sister buses on the X19/X32/X33. Oh how I wish we still had them in Barnsley. Much better than a bog standard Enviro!

Old news, but as far as I can see, not reported elsewhere is news that former Traction bus 306 was withdrawn by Emsworth & District in 2008. I would imagine it's been scrapped now, but cannot confirm.

306 was a Mercedes Benz with Optare StarRider body work. She was born in 1989/90 and was delivered to Shafton, Doncaster, Wombwell or Rawmarsh (Sorry, brain gone blank, I can't remember which. It wasn't Barnsley thats' for sure).

LAK937W

I had reason to be in old London Town recently. I was just around the corner from Millwall football ground and I saw LAK937W, a Bristol VR new to Tracky. Looked in really good nick. I hope to go back to see it shortly.

Updates

I know I've said this before but please bear with me .....

It's my intention to post YORKSHIRE TRACTION news here. Who knows, maybe the odd bit of Tates stuff as well. However, I'm not updating with Stagecoach Yorkshire news (unless the bus was a YTC bus previously).

There won't be much information these days as most tracky stuff has been scrapped. However, I will endeaver to post whenever I get news.

Alpine, Wales

A few notes from a visit to North Wales recently:-

 

Olympian 616 JWR137Y is heavilly cannibalised at Rhyl depot

 

Sister 670 C670GET and open top 654 A654OCX are 'vehicle off road' (or VOR as the A4 sheet of paper stated in the windscreen), also at Rhyl depot. Both vehicles appear to be fully intact

 

Over in Llandudno;

 

618 SHE618Y, 627 UKY627Y, 648 A648OCX and 662 B662CET were all seen on active school duties, with 648 being a recent repaint.

 

The second open top 646 A646OCX was seen parked up at Llandudno depot and appears to be a spare incase the other 2 D reg ex London olympians run into trouble.

No ex Traction VR's seen (indeed only one w/d VR seen all day).
